+++MINOR VICTORY+++

The mercs were few in number but they’re resilient opponents, there were definitely points where I thought the Escher were on route to a wipeout.

I’ll be scoring XP and injury rolls a bit different to the normal campaigns just to suit this style of game better. It’s probably also worth saying I use kill/out-of-action pretty synonymously in the following.

Gang Summary:
Ryhn (Champion) – survived unhurt, killed one opponent (Jenna the shotgunner), made it out the ambush.
XP earnt: Attendance +1, Kills +1, Objectives +1, Survival +1 = 4
Ayel (Juve) – taken out of action (stabbed by Fortmas when she was seriously injured)
XP earnt: Attendance +1 = 1
Injury Roll: Out Cold – recovers without penalty
Sandri Tohe (Ganger) – taken out of action (shotgun blast from Jenna)
XP earnt: Attendance +1 = 1
Injury Roll: Grievous Injury – goes into recovery
Fast Aelbeth (Ganger) – survived unhurt, fell a long way at one point, made it out the ambush.
XP earnt: Attendance +1, Objectives +2 (also turned off the volt wall), Survival +1 = 4
Rae Chedotte (Ganger): taken out of action (sliced up by Fortmas)
XP earnt: attendance +1 = 1
Injury Roll: Grievous Injury – goes into recovery
Joha Underhab – survived (though seriously injured), fought Thorne the Ex-Escher Merc for most the ambush
XP earnt: Attendance +1, Survival +1 = 2
Myr Sildotte – taken out of action (stabbed on the ground by Fortmas), indirectly killed Gryn the Ex-Goliath Merc via gravity
XP earnt: Attendance +1 = 1
Injury Roll: Out Cold – recovers without penalty.

Capture Roll:
Reduced in number and hot on the heels of the fleeing Ryhn and Aelbeth the mercs were not able to capture any of the fallen Escher.

Epilogue:

We’d made it through – though we’d taken a licking. Our escape had been nothing more than that – a frightened flight into the warrens of the underhive. Broken into small groups we’d been pursued through the tunnels by the shouts, and shots, of our hunters, but, though confronted by those who sought to end us, we’d made it out, and that gave us strength of a kind. We’d been tested, and we had overcome.

If we were going to stay on this side of the Empress’s Doors, however, we were going to need gear and guns. We were lost and alone, and the underhive held many who predate on weakness. Though, for then, we put that from our minds and focused on the immediate need to get as far from the Tower of Hosts as possible. Carrying our few belongs and those too badly injured in the fighting to walk themselves we wound our way into the gloaming of the hive.
